Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb lean ground beef (at least 80%)
- 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
- 1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
Instructions
- Get Prepped: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch glass pie dish with non-stick cooking spray or a bit of butter.
- Cook the Beef & Onion: In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and chopped onion together. Stir occasionally and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. Season with the salt and give it one final stir.
- Assemble the Pie Base: Evenly spread the beef-onion mixture into your prepared pie dish. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the top, making sure it reaches the edges for that gooey golden crust.
- Whisk & Pour: In a separate bowl, whisk together the Bisquick™ mix, milk, and eggs until smooth and lump-free. Slowly pour this batter over the beef and cheese mixture, covering it as evenly as possible.
- Bake It Up: Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when a knife inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is lightly golden.
- Cool & Serve: Let the pie rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy every cheesy, meaty bite!
