Fried Lemon Pepper Salmon Sticks with Old Bay Blue Cheese

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon Sticks:

  • 1 lb (450g) skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Old Bay Blue Cheese Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preparing the Salmon Sticks

Cut the skinless salmon fillets into long, thin strips, similar to fish sticks, ensuring even cooking and a visually appealing presentation.

2. Coating the Salmon

In a shallow dish, mix the flour, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt. This will form a tangy, crispy coating for the salmon sticks.

Dip each salmon strip into the beaten eggs, making sure it’s completely coated, then roll it in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing lightly to help the coating stick. Repeat with all the salmon strips.

3. Frying the Salmon Sticks

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pan over medium-high heat, filling it about 2 inches deep. Fry the coated salmon strips in batches to prevent overcrowding, which helps ensure even cooking.

Cook each strip for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the fried sticks to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

4. Making the Old Bay Blue Cheese Sauce

While the salmon is frying, prepare the sauce by mixing the crumbled blue cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and black pepper in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.

5. Serving

Serve the golden, crispy lemon pepper salmon sticks hot, with the Old Bay blue cheese sauce on the side for dipping. Arrange on a platter, and enjoy this flavorful seafood dish!
