Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Dr Pepper soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray so your brownies come out easily.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined and free of lumps.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In another bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, Dr Pepper, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry: Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined—no need to overmix! Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake the brownies: Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and serve: Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then slice into squares. For best texture and flavor, let them cool completely before digging in (if you can wait!).
