Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm bananas, peeled and thinly sliced into 1/8-inch rounds
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier touch)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prep Your Bananas: Slice the bananas into thin, even rounds—about 1/8 inch thick. The thinner you slice, the crispier the chips!
- Toss & Coat: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. In another bowl, gently toss banana slices with coconut oil or melted butter until evenly coated. Then sprinkle in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss again to coat every slice.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and let it preheat for 3–5 minutes. This step helps give the chips a head start on crisping.
- Cook in Batches: Arrange banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket—no overlapping! Cook in batches if needed.
- Air Fry to Crispy Goodness: Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping the chips gently halfway through. Keep an eye on them in the last few minutes—they go from golden to burnt quickly!
- Cool & Crisp Up: Let the chips cool on a wire rack for at least 5 minutes. They’ll crisp up more as they cool. Enjoy right away or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
