Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup Catalina dressing (or ranch for a different twist)
Instructions
- Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess grease and stir in the taco seasoning according to package instructions. Let it cool slightly.
- Prepare the Veggies: While the beef is cooking, chop the lettuce, dice the tomatoes and onions, and slice the olives.
- Assemble the Salad: In a large mixing bowl, layer the lettuce first, followed by the cooked taco meat.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle the tomatoes, onions, black olives, and shredded cheese evenly over the top.
- Crunch It Up: Just before serving, mix in the lightly crushed Doritos for that signature crunch.
- Dress and Toss: Drizzle the Catalina dressing over the salad and gently toss everything together to ensure even coating.
- Serve Immediately: Enjoy while the Doritos are still crisp!
